Message board is not only a system for sharing ideas with different people, it could also be a place to gather people with similiar interests and targets in doing something. I find it's pretty interesting to see many girls shares their dieting schedules and strategies in the message board under the topic of Body & Fitness in a web site called
she.com. These girls go to the same message box and update their dieting progress as well as supporting each other everyday. Certain implications of Netiquette can be found from this area. One of the reasons that some newcomers being ignored is that they always ask questions that already answered previously. Question like "what methods do you girls use to lose weight?" mostly receives unfriendly reply because the answer ususally be posted at the very beginning. Another kind of unwelcome message is the one posted in the wrong place. In one message board, girls are losing weight by doing excerise and going against taking diet medicines. When a newcomer asked about what kind of diet products is most effective, she received few messages that ask her to leave.

Rebecca Jahn studies the power of Internet to open lines of communication between politicians and the people they represent. Since Ask System enables even non-experienced computer users can find information, people or agencies they need easily by typing natural language in web search engine, she points out that it fosters democracy in the Internet. Moreover, Internet makes government a lot more accessible and observable to people. Also, in her study, the development of the concepts of human communication, she finds out that people are interacting more with machines than people while Internet technology is more widely spread than ever before. As discussed in lectures, message sent through Internet would be stored in some place in the digital era even if the intended senders and receivers delete the transmission. It creates a fundermental change in communication system.
